Oh Yes. My Time Of the Year!

Super Bowl? Done.

NBA? Boring.

Spring Training MLB? Even more boring.

This is my favorite time of year. College basketball season. I love it. Tonight is North Carolina-Duke; rivalry week on ESPN. What am I doing? I'm watching it. On my computer. I should be taking a shower (worked out at the gym today).  I should be cleaning my kitchen; it's very dirty. I should be putting clothes away; I did laundry this weekend. But, no. My priorities are quite clear. NCAA mens basketball.

This may not seem odd to you but it is to me. I can't stand North Carolina OR Duke. I have a deliberate "hate" for Duke. It's kind of similar to my "hate" for Yankees, Red Sox, Steelers, Patriots and their fans. Obnoxious fans. That fits both Duke & UNC fans to a "T". So the fact that I'm watching this is surprising to me. It must be love.

I love college basketball. And now that NFL playoffs or over, I am watching 2 teams I "hate". The one time of year (actually two) I cheer for either one of these teams is when they play each other. I am sitting here cheering for North Carolina. Duke and their #1 fan Dick Vitale drive me absolutely nuts. Overexposed, overrated, over-whatever.

And look. Now that I'm blogging about them, UNC is let a 14 point lead slip down to a 7 point lead at Duke. But I digress. Because this is not a post about those schools from Carolina. This is a post devoted to my love for all things college basketball. March Madness is right around the corner. I have my vacation time scheduled so I can watch all of the games without interruption. My friend from work has those days off too. So, we will enjoy them together.

Okay. This game is getting interesting so it's time to go. But, I will leave you with this last thought.
