Our oldest son Aaron loves soccer. His in his senior season of soccer at his high school. He is one of the captains on his team this year. Time is slowly winding down on this season. Playoffs begin this week. They won their league this year but after this week it's lose and you're done. So we are getting down to the nitty gritty of this whole experience.
It's been a great experience watching him grow and mature in life and on the soccer field. It was just a few years ago when he was a freshman goal keeper on the team surrounded by older, more experienced players. It was hard to watch at times. He wound up yielding his position to an older player but was still got on the field during their state championship winning game. Now, he's the senior leader on the team, hoping to repeat the run from a few years ago.
He has definitely learned a lot being the leader. When things don't always go your way as a leader, it's easy to get frustrated and mad. But, he's learned how people respond to different ways of reacting. People take their cues from their leader. He's learned. They've learned. And I am so very, very proud of him.
THIS WEEK ONLY: What perfect timing to see that our son is in the spotlight this week on a certain soccer website here in Washington. http://wa2b1bsoccer.wordpress.com/spotlight/
Until next time,
RSPS Sunny
